Ridge line quilt hooks rubbing against the bug net??

Thanks for this bit of info str1der. I'm actually putting an order together for arrowhead gear and TT's are the main items. That is exactly what I had n mind to try. Good to hear that it works.

Not to disuade you because the TTs are very handy, but I'm not 100% convinced that they are necesary in every condition. I only use them in addition to the main suspension on my heavy quilt (winter Incubator), and even then only when it is very cold outside. Their best feature is forcing the quilt into the slightly assym position, which is of most benefit when the consequences of imperfect coverage are severe!

I thought I would reopen this thread, because I don't think the OP was answered directly, and I have the same question. The posters offered some good advice for work-arounds, but I was wondering if anyone had some experience with this since the original thread.

I currently use Triangle thingies on my 3/4 underquilt with my WBBB. I was just looking, as always, for a new toy or alternative. Does anyone have thoughts as to using the over-the-ridgeline Dutch quilt hooks vs. the thingies? I am wondering which works better for changing the quilt angle, and whether or not the Dutch quilt hooks would cause the bug net to wear enough to cause a hole. Thoughts?

i have never heard any complaint of this happening and this thread is been out there for 4 months. There are more than 1000 of these out. I though the plastic were a great alternative to the aluminum ones I used for more than a year. I guess though if there is alot and I mean ALOT of tension and alot of movement it would wear through eventually. for the most part I find the hook stays in place and the shock cord moves through the hook not the hook is stationary on the shock cord and the the hook is just rubbing back and fourth on the netting.

Thanks for chiming n Dutch. Even though I'm the one who started this thread, I have decided to use mine since I got them. No problems what so ever! I love them and keep my quilt right where I need it. I think ur response is what most reading this thread wanted to hear. Keep up the good work my friend

Thanks Dutch. Great response. I had not thought about it that way. It makes sense that the inverted "v" would pretty much stay put. I think I am going to order a set, along with some quilt hangars to see if I like them better than the triangle thingies. Order incoming.....

My questions about the Dutch ridge line quilt hooks is does it allow the netting to move freely because I find when I'm first getting into my hammock and adjusting things I move the netting around to get my lay right and I would hate for the hook to slip onto the ridgeline and put pressure on my netting. Thoughts?
