    Which book for newbies?

What would be your choice for a newbie to hammock camping, "The Ultimate Hang" or "Hammock Camping" by Ed Speer? Thanks!

"Ultimate Hang" because it's up to date with all the recent advancements in hammock camping. Ed Speer's book was the pioneering book that started the modern day hammock trend.

The ultimate hang will have everything you need to know, with some really easy to understand graphics if you dont understand the wording.

I think you're going with the right one. Ed's book is nice to have, but I found it hard to follow and in need of an update to some of the new ways to hammock camp.

One thing Ed's book has going for it is a nice primer on making your own hammock and some cheap ways to get going.

OOHH OOHH I know I know did any one mention the Ultimate Hang.

Nah all joking aside I've been hanging for a handful of years now and recently picked up the Ultimate Hang and found it to be very useful and learned some new and really cool stuff. Its a great book.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
