Very enjoyable trips and videos of the Smokys.
And the HNO gear along with all the rest look great.
Always love seeing the old gear.
Did the WB tarp have a different name back in the day pre-Superfly ? I thought I saw that somewhere.
    Bridge hang was awesome.

As always none of this possible without the genius of HNO.
The pole mod has always been great for tarps, for the HNO derived socks its even better.
Thanks for the shout outs. I like the look of that pole mod in the sock a lot. Ramps with Scotch eggs sounds rather tasty. I've had five nights in a sock now three of which were in the Dawn Treader, and I can't foresee going back anytime soon to a tarp. A one bag solution rocks and I love the ability to layer up an UQ beneath the Bonefire. It looks like several great trips and a bridge hang to boot. Happy Easter hike.

I've been reading through this thread and watching the videos. I'm definitely anxious to see this project continue to take shape. Now jumping over to the 'All In One Hammock Sock' thread to keep following this rabbit trail.

TallPaul I cannot remember even the name of the WB tarp she used=old age.
FIMB I'm glad you've made the conversion to sockdom
HTH (hightechhillilly) as far as I'm concerned the sock concept and actuality have taken its final form in the HNO AirShip...only 1 itsy bitsy thing I'd change about it and thats the position of the cord lock where I dial in the tension of the SEEP. I'm approaching 90 total nights in hammock socks by HNO, either the original Dirigible, the 2cd gen Graf, of the final compilation of all we learned, e.g. the Airship; and consider it a done deal
Of course technology moves on. Maybe someday the waterproof/breathable cuben will be offered in a greenish color versus the basic white currently available-at that point I'll be begging/beseeching HNO to make me another.

OOH! Camo WB cuben fiber! Now, THAT would be worth it's weight in gold!!

BTW, MedicineMan, enjoyed the video. Looks like the pole mod was a worthy addition. Can you tell us what the Airship, pole, and suspension is weighing out at now? Thanks for sharing ghe good works

Mr.Mike I'm at work, and soon must sleepcrash. I'll try to get a weight sometime. Rough guess for AirShip + Pole is very close to 14.5 ounces. Suspension is more connected to the hammock...have to think on that one.

MedicineMan, my mistake, I had thought the suspension was an integrated part of the sock and that the hammock attached to it. If that's not the case, no need to weigh out your suspension.

MM, great video as usual. I noticed on the last hike in the Smokies you used the "Bonefire" with an UQ and not the "Roan" Insulhammock. I am curious as to why you didn't push the "Roan" to test its upper temperature limits. Seems the weight of the "Roan" would have been comparable to the weight of the Bonefire with a UQ and TQ.

There is only one suspension for both hammock and sock. On the non cuben models the suspension is integral to the sock with the hammock attached. On the cuben models both attach to the suspension so either answer would be correct
