So I am new to "Hanging" and trying to better refine my suspension system and I like Whoopie Sling ideas and I like the Single Line Suspension idea too. I was thinking I could combine the 2 ideas. I tried to find some post of someone doing this to make sure it would work but have not seen any.
My thought is to make a Whoopie Sling with both ends adjustable and with a mid section long enough to use a the ridge line. While watching the "Primers on ___ Suspension" Videos I noticed that a Decending Ring with 3 wraps of rope idea.
So my idea is:
Desceding Rings on ends of the hammock. Rope long enough for 108" (100" ridgeline + 4" each end) middle Section plus 6' Whoopies on each end. With a few "Marks" on the rope for Center then 50" on either side of center (for starting point of ridge line length). Take the rope/whoopies and wrap through each ring 3 times so that I have an "adjustable" ridge line without any knots or addtional connecting hardware.
If the Amsteel with "lock" into place on rings like the other rope did with only a few wraps around the ring in "Primer into Cord Suspesion" video did. This seems like the easiest Suspesions and ridgeline package (again new and have not tried it). But No Splicing, No Knots, 1 line and Fully adjustable.
Has anyone done this?
Does it work?
Did I explain my idea well enough?
