I personally carry a pair of the 1100 lb carabiners that DIY Gear Supply sells and use them as toggles. Makes for a good spot to hang my pack. This also gives you the ability to lock the whoopie loops inside the carabiner and prevents them from accidently falling off. Even a pair of the cheapest, flimsy carabiners will work, but please use only the spines in you marlinspike hitch.
