should I just get python straps?

im getting my first hammock, the Kammok, and realized that the python straps dont come with it. being new to all of this ive been reserching suspension systems and everything. Right now i dont want to make anything myself, i figure after i get used to it all i might feel like it. Im not concerned aboutm quite frankly a few grams or ounces dont make any difference. I think that im gonna go with the python straps even if they are $29. I thought about making some like it but materials alone will be about $15 and my time/frustration wouldnt be worth it. those whoopie slings are $48. what do you think/use yourself?

I use the python straps and like them a lot. They are a bit heavy, but very easy to use.
They don't stretch at all. I use them with all my hammocks but the WBBB.
    Good luck.

Whoopie slings are not $48 At least I've never seen a set at that price nor have I ever paid that. Contact by private message Dweller7, he'll make you up a nice set and does great work at a very fair price. As of late, he has been doing all of my cord work when ever I need something from adjustable ridgelines to suspensions.

If you can't sew than just tie a "Tape Knot" or "Water Knot" on the ends of a piece of webbing to form a loop. Knots always weaken the webbing or rope but the Tape Knot is the best to use on flat material. I've repelled off some pretty big drops using 1" webbing around a tree and a tape knot for an anchor.

I think he is referring to the whoopieslings . com all in one system, which is 48 dollars.

Lost, you've got a sytem that might work well, and is reasonably priced, although not for the weight weenie. I just ordered two Lock & Load cinch buckles and two ten foot long tree straps from you for about $20, IIRC. I'm going to hang my ENO DN with them tonight. I'll take pics and post them.

Those should do you well sarge. I like the ease of them and the fact that when I hang at my favorite spot which is off a high ledge, I feel pretty secure.
I never personally tested the cinch buckles but the manufacturer tells me they have been tested to 1200 pounds without a scratch. Someday I will get around to putting one in the tester and pulling it apart. But as you can see with your order, they are pretty formidable.
