I made this one last minute out of a sheer curtain from Ikea. It's polyester and pretty light. Fits the hammock above no problem but it's hardly representative of the work I typically do. I made it in a rush thinking I was about to head out on a trip without a net. I didn't roll the edges (like I typically do and is not perfect, but it's totally usable. Fit might be a little snug with an underquilt but if you're on a pad you'll be fine. I figured someone could use it rather than me chopping it up and using the material for snakes skins and stuff sacks.

I am interested in the bug net, but am a bit of a learning newbie when it comes to this hammock stuff. (learning fast ) Is the bug sock sewn into a tube and how do you get into the hammock after the bug sock is on...?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I am working in the Grand Teton area and itching to go hiking on my DIY hammock, but want to get a bug net first!

I don't have the exact numbers but thehammock, ridgeline, whoopie slings and stuff sack weigh pretty much ~8 oz. (maybe less) The straps, I think are another 2-4 oz, not sure though.

The bug sock is a sewn tube with a draw string at the open end. To get into the hammock you open it up, slide it across your ridgeline line a curtain, get into your hammock and slide it back up and cinch it shut. As long as you have a ridgeline on your hammock and your overall hammock length is no greater than 10' it should work.

I'll take the bug net if you think it'll work with a ButtInASling Camper hammock. The hammock is 10 ft long but the ridgeline is only 9 feet, non-adjustable, so it should be fine right? Also, it looks like pretty fine mesh, do you think it will stop no-see-ums?

I don't know the specs on that hammock but if it's 10 feet in length it probably has a ridgeline of 100 inches (closer to 8'4") (83% of the total 120" length) so bugsock should fit as the hammock above is also 10 ft long. The screen is super fine so I can't imagine a noseeum getting through.

You can paypal me $18 to "thesergeant (at) gmail (dot) com" and I'll get it out Monday. If shipping is less than $6 I'll refund you the difference.
