Cuben Fiber - Stuff, roll or fold?

I found only one or two threads on this and I wasn't convinced. What have you been doing and have you noticed any long term side effects?

Over Time the mylar breaks down and can (not allways) seperate from the dyneema fibers. Excessive sun exposure increases this. Rolling and folding minimizes creases and prolongs the life of the mylar.

OK, so you suggest not stuffing?

I just read a post that suggested folding was the best way to preserve cuben fiber. That's just too much trouble, so I'm a roll and fold guy.

Stuffiing does sound like it would stress the fibers more than rolling and folding.

The theory behind stuffing has always been to reduce stress in one area over and over. So I am not sure id folding is better or not.

If I could afford the stuff, I'd fold it around me and then roll all around...pretending it's money in one big sheet.

It's not a stretch to pretend it's money, that's for sure. LOL

I keep my cuben tarp in snake skins and just slide them on and slide them off,,the cuben tarp hung after a couple of hours looks like new,,no wrinkles or anything,,cuben chaps...fold them and cram them in a cuben small bag with 8 oz silnylon poncho and they wear as good,,cuben food bag,,gets beat up to heck and still going strong,,cuben is very durable..besides,,I don't baby my gear but I do take care of it keeping it clean, dry, and stored at 72 constant degrees...it all seems to be holding up very nicely.
