Structural ridgeline with bugnet?

I've just bought a Tenth Wonder XL Hornet. This hammock comes with a built in bugnet which uses two spreader bars. I'd like to use a structural ridgeline with it but to give enough height for the net it means having it very long - makes using my whoopie slings difficult as would need a much larger tree spacing.

Any thoughts on this? Am I wasting my time trying to have an ASR on this type of hammock?

It won't be "structural", but if all you want is a line to hold the net up, use Prusic loops on your whoopies, and clip the ridge line to them.

I might just have to give up the idea of a SR then & use a conventional ridgeline. It's difficult to test things here as no suitable trees in my garden

I'm having the same problem trying to rig a structural ridgeline to my DD Travel hammock (with built in bug net and whoopie suspension).

Also struggling due to lack of hanging points in my back yard!

Did you find a solution in the end?

I never got round to using a structural ridgeline but I did make an end support for my hammock so can hang in the garden if needed. Must try out my new UQ sometime...

Yes, I need to get myself an underquilt. I'm going to experiment with using an old sleeping bag first though.

The only thing wrong with an old sleeping bag is the bulk/weight (OK, that's two things). They're warm, cheap and larger than many UQ. If you're car camping there's little need to upgrade, IMHO
