My thoughts on tarp size may be slightly different. The purpose of a tarp is to block rain and wind. That being said the problem with some of the so called winter tarps is that they are too long. The longer the RL is the lower the hammock hangs. On a tarp with short walls, the lower part of the hammock is in the wind causing Cold Butt Syndrome . If I were to get another tarp, , it would probably be a 10x10. Using a BB the 10' RL is long enough and I can suck the hammock high under the tarp. The 10' walls would drop low enough to block the wind and doors can be closed on the ends. Add side pull-outs and it really expands the interior. So how much do you think a 10x10 cuben would cost? I may find out some time soon .
