WTB: tarp

hey guys i want to buy a tarp for under 20 bucks, i have no clue if this is feasible

Walmart blue poly tarp, I have also seen them in camo for a couple bucks more.

Depending on how big you need, ****'s sells a PU coated nylon 'backpacker's poncho' that's about 4.5'x8.5'. It costs $24.

It has snaps on three sides, and tie outs, though I had to add two extra tie outs. My bridge hammock is huge, so it isn't *quite* long enough, but the snaps on the sides make it easy to add extra length with just a bit of really basic sewing. I think it would fit a more compact gathered end hammock just fine, though it's a little narrow.

I don't know that you'd be in really good shape in a proper summer thunderstorm unless you pitched it really low and close to the hammock, but it makes a pretty dandy 1+ season tarp for me, and it weighs less than 12oz. Bonus: It doubles as my pack cover, as well as an extra layer of rain gear for really heavy downpours.
