Any limit on people? I might have some non hammock people who might be interested.
No limits on people, there is over 8 miles of shoreline that is National Forest. there will be plenty of room.
Is there a date set for this yet??
I have three boats coming, including mine, tandem canoes all. My bow seat has been offered to someone here, and may be available of they bail, and there may be a second bow seat available.
I am interested, but will have to see how things are going after I return from the Boundary Waters/Qetico Wilderness at the end of August. (My girlfriend thinks I am secretly running around with another kayaker.)
This sounds like a wonderful trip.

Just looking for a show of hands who is going on the Sept 15-16 float trip. Anyone else that would like to join is welcome.
Re paddle camping on the Shenandoah in Va: Shenandoah River Outfitters is the largest outfitter in the area. They can rent you the canoe or kayak & shuttle you. Look at their website for a map of that section of the Shenandoah River. I paddle camped there last weekend. We put in at #8, camped just beyond Compton's Rapid, and took out at #28 the 2nd day. 10 miles each day was perfect. The camping just below Compton's Rapid was kind of a mob scene, even on a Friday evening, so be ready for that. We only had to get out & walk 2 times, but check the flow levels. Also, check with the outfitter for more details, but between #8 and Compton's Rapid (when you see houses along the river on the left) it's best to stay to the far left to get through and avoid the rock ledges. Have fun! btw you might want to consider paddling/walking back up the river to do Compton's Rapid more than once....fun!
