    Your favorite hammock material??

    Ripstop Nylon?
    Taffeta?(polyester)
    Plain Polyester?
    Other?
I find the Polyesters firmer with a stronger feel, but I like the stretchiness of the nylon.
Polyester also feels a bit warmer but maybe it's my imagination.
I was kinda weary of the Taffeta colors, I thought they look like a disco ball. But after I spent a few hours in a blue one the shine didn't bother me that much.
I also found the Taffeta a bit harder to work with than ripstop nylon or plain polyester. (100% poly)

If you mean the best for comfort, I honestly prefer cotton! Wife bought me a WAY too small cotton one for lounging in the yard, as it is too small my time in it has been limited, but fabric against skin comfort, it can't be beat. BUT even though it is MUCH smaller than my WBBB, it's about 2X the weight AND bulk. So, it is relegated to the back yard for naps & for short day hikes when I will be taking a long break for lunch.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

I prefer nylon over polyester because I like a bit of stretch in my hammock. Polyester doesn't stretch. Now I don't like really thin nylon because that's too much stretch for me.
But, everyone is different. You need to find a fellow hanger or two and try out their rigs.

I have two. Leave it to me to not stick to the rules . However; they are two extremes. 1.1 nylon and the crinkle taffeta tablecloth fabric. Two extremely different feels and two extremely different behaving fabrics....but for now, I guess I will stick with the weight penalty and go with the crinkle taffeta, I think that is more because of the extra width though.

I really like DIY Gear Supplies' 1.1 OD Green nylon ripstop. I'm #210 and like the single layer I made from it... Though most at my weight avoid 1.1 or go double layer...

I've had hammocks made from 1.0 (DL) 1.1 (DL), 1.1 (SL) and 1.9(SL) but the 1.1 calendared is the most comfortable to me.

I really like the polyester jacket liner that I use for my camping hammock. That said, I completely agree with with Doctari about cotton--if I had a hanging setup indoors (where weight and wetness are not a concern), my hammock would be made from cotton... soooo comfy!
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

I'm going to have to try a 1.1 oz nylon single-layer to understand what a stretchy hammock feels like. This sounds like one of those things I won't even notice, but everyone is different.

Try the 1.0 oz ACU from Magna. You'll notice.

I spent a pleasant couple of hours in mine this evening watching the bats and fireflys.
