I'm located roughly 30 minutes north of Seattle, WA. Haven't been hammock camping long.
Can't remember how I first got the idea to do it. I was stocking shelves at the time, and thought it'd be nice to get away from that terrible job. I bought a cheap hammock and had a friend that I could borrow one from so I could loan mine out and camp with someone else.
We went to Mt. Saint Helen's for our first hammock camping experience at the end of October/early November. Neither of us knew what to expect for warmth from a hammock. It was **** cold, but I was hooked.
Been about two years since that experience, and I've managed to be able to stay warmer thanks to all of the things posted on this forum. Excellent resource, wonderful community. I've also converted 6 or 7 friends to hammocks, and I believe a couple of those have loved them enough to buy hammocks for friends/family too.
Thanks for the forum!
