    Welcome from south Louisiana.
I use a fan that hangs from my ridge line inside my WBBB. It helps a lot! I love summer so I don't le the heat stop me from hanging. U can find the fan I use at Coleman.com or local wallmart usually carries a cheaper version in the camping dept. Academy and Dicks sporting goods has them as well.

As for the trees you are looking for....come over to your neighboring state of Louisiana, we have plenty trees. Send me a private message and I'd be happy to let you know of a few places to hang over here.
It's never a trip, It's always an adventure!

Hey....i don't enjoy summer camping as much...not as much tie to go and heat is my nemesis!
When I do though....I bring a sheet for my top. Still use my underquilt but vent it. Or just a weathershield in very hot temps.
I small FAN on the ridgeline makes all the difference for me...I am a sweater!!!!

    True, True.

It sure is more enjoyable when it is cooler(70s) at night and a slight breeze won't hurt either. Use a small pad or 40s under quilt (cold sleeper) and you're good to go

Tarp stop airflow and block the starry sky so I use a continuous ridgeline with mesh snake-skin, always there and can deploy in minutes.

Again another warm welcome from Austin

Welcome from Fort Worth. I have not yet hung in the Texas heat, but have the fan ready when I do.

Welcome from San Angelo! We tough the heat out. Lots of water, hang out in the shade. I have tree issues here as well and I have gone as far as finding a couple of small mesquites and whipping all of the little branches in together as one big branch and hanging from that. I don't mind the fact it hurts the trees because they are huge water-sucking weeds that are constantly being fought to erradicate and they are turning the area into desert land.

Best way to hang in the heat is go with a naked hammock and no OQ or UQ. The breeze feels nice at night and I still get a bit chilly at night even though it was 110 F during the day.

Another welcome from DFW. Yeah, the heat is something (though I have slipped into the hammock when the sun goes down and the temp slips below 100). Still, I prefer to think of camping here is a three-season activity, and summer ain't one of those seasons.

I do see plenty of trees, though -- usually in somone's yard, behind the 8-foot privacy fence. I have one tree in my backyard and my daughter's mostly unused swingset-fortress. They're about 15 feet apart, a fine distance for a casual hangout.

As I remember from Shug's videos, he somehow hangs from his backyard fence (or at least that's the way it looks to me).

Again, good to have you here.

    Mike
