first hang

so this weekend i had my first hang (indoors since i have no trees for hanging in my yard and don't have any stands or posts set up...yet)

the basement happens to have two lolly columns spaced an exact 12' apart so i tried it out on saturday night - my wife actually did not think i was insane and though it was a good idea to test before going out into the woods with just my hammock

tied each end off with a carabiner and a slippery larks head - it took like 2 minutes to set the hammock up - i think i should have made the foot end a little higher but bottom line - i slept fine (once i got over the boyish excitement of...i'm sleeping in a hammock...i'm camping in my basement!!! ) and woke up with no pain or soreness - it's neat how the hammock material bends and moves around and you can find all sorts of ways to lay to find what works

last night my parents came over for a visit and i actually got my mom to try it i gave her a push and she was swinging away

i'll test and try it more and should be on my way for my upcoming trips in the next few weeks
