I passed the tekline through the factory hem, so I don't think I'm loosing much. I have a 100" ridgeline. I'll take some measurements and pics tonight.

Ok, I was doing it all wrong.... Here's the measurements:
99" ridge line
1.5" each whipped end.

In my desire to get a flatter lay, I was going at an angle way to wide from the ridge line. Found that I didn't need to do that, and that I have plenty of cloth to keep the feet in.

I may re-whip with the folded W method and see if I like that better. The end whip I have now is kind of jammed up.

Interesting, what kind of suspension are y'all using? Did you notice anything in the fabric in the beginning? I've done a couple of hangs in mine and have seen no problems thus far.

I just whipped the ends accordion style and then whoopie slings and a little ridgeline out of zingit. But it had nothing to do with the suspension the hole developed in the bottom right where I would have my bottom - the lowest part. Then the whole ripped wider and wider.

I've been in mine two and a half months now and have no weird wears or un-explained holes. I did have one hole about head high and 2 feet in from the edge but it was caused by catching something on the corner of my desk when I was getting in the hammock. I patched that with Iron on patch, actually was pretty close in color. Not much weight up there so it's stayed quite well even with my ever widening 285 pound load in it.

FYI: received some table cloths this week and finally had a chance to put one together. I don't have a thread injector, so I decided to try Just Jeff's idea for using zip ties to secure the ends in a bunch.

Sorry, don't have any pics. But the time we got the hammock hung, it was pretty dark outside and drizzling a bit. This is a hammock for my son and he wanted to test it out, so we did!

The results. It sorta worked...which means I still have some work to do. The zip tie holds fabric well, bit the gathered end does not make enough of a bump in the fabric for the whoopie larks head to stay secured. When I took down the hammock and checked the position of the whoopies, ions end had slid over the zip tied section. It still held, but I don't trust it. I've re-tied, but I don't think there's enought fabric to keep the whoopie from sliding over it again, and eventually off the fabric altogether. Any suggestions from the community?

you can find various whipping techniques that don't require sewing channels.

You can gather the end and tie it in a simple overhand knot like an original Speer DIY. You can gather the end and whip it with some simple cord. 8-10 wraps with the ends Knotted together. Thats how I did mine, took me about 5 minutes each end. You don't have to sew or use zip ties where a couple pennies of what amounts to heavy string will do.
