Here are some pictures of the hammocks that I've made with the tablecloths.
With whoopies. (thanks hammockforums) ( gathered end as per knotty's video. Thanks knotty). I used a loop turner with the whoopies and with threading mason line through the original hem.
With suspensions from Warbonnnet (Thanks Brandon) with whipped ends (Thanks Just Jeff)
suspensions from Warbonnet. (Thanks Brando) (whipped ends Thanks to Just Jeff)
I used a paracord ridgelines and i will probably replace them an adjustable ridgeline. My kids enjoyed the hammocks. I hope to be able to find some tarp solutoins and get longer tree straps for the green hammock.
Thanks to the members of hammock forums for your input and words of wisdom.
That Blue looks pretty good. When I get my next tablecloth,,,er hammock, I'm gonna buy that color.

I don't think I would use my 90" for hiking due to that factor. The Diva uses it to wrap around her as some extra insulation when it's cooler (that's been a couple of months here in Charleston). I will sometimes take the extra fabric and bunch it up under my left arm to make an arm rest out of it, that works pretty well in keeping it out of my face.

I finally bought a Blue tablecloth last week as I had a buddy mention he just retired and after a long list of things he was doing now, needing a hammock was on the list. Well heck, since I already had the shipping and he's a little guy I got him a 60 x 120 or whatevet the size down from 132 was. Had Amsteel come in Thursday and made a couple whoopies for it. Made a Whoopie from Zingit for the ridgeline so he could adjust it and Friday, a week after ordering, my blanks hit the door. I whipped my new hammock on one end and did the Knotty channel thing with the other end. Then did the Knotty ends on his. Hung his up and laid in it and was happy. Nice and comfortable. Laid down in mine and it was ok. Was having trouble getting out of it. Changed the length of my whoopies to the wall, finally did both ends in the channel gather and still wasn't quite happy. Then I nothiced that although I had banding under the left side trying to get out, and it was hard. I could pop right out of the right side. Weird. Measure everything this mornign and it's the same length SO I went back to a gathered and whipped end both sides, hooked up my original length suspension and everything is fine. So thats weird.
I also took an old Tyvek mail pouch that some batteries came in and turned it into a bag for my buddies hammock with an old shoelace for a drawstring and one of those Griz sliding knots to shut it. Got to get some strapping and get the hammock in the mail. His partner in crime up in North Dakota sent me his address and promises silence till it gets there. Pretty good weekend.
I wonder if anyone has had trouble doing a channel gathered with the 90 inch blanks like I did? Evidently I was doing something wrong. I went from having a ridge down the center making diagonal lay uncomfortable (knee in the back feeling) or I had too much pressure on the sides making it dang near impossible to get my legs under my rear to get out. Sometimes I think you just have to tie it a couple times to get everything just right.
Picked up a burgandy table cloth. Im going to whip the ends

1) Does anyone make a silnylon blank w/ all four edges hemmed????
2) What kind of line do yall use for whipping? I might do the zip tie method because its easy and simple. Rednecks love simple and easy ( like duck tape ) anyone done the zip tie? Also at 5'8" would the 90 be to big for me?
Buttinasling.com sells a full suspension kit for about 27 shipped. 6 foot whoopies, 6 foot huggers and toggles. It came in 3 days too!!
