Thanks For the info, if I get started now I can get some early Christmas presents done for the family that doesn't understand my obsessions. I will make 4 to start. I will be sewing in channels in the ends.

I just placed my order today.

What's the weight limit of single layer TC?

What is the weight limit of a single-layer hammock using the material from Tablecloth Factory? I plan to make a buddy a DIY hammock, but he's in the 250# range. Do I need to go double layer for him?

I'm 270 lbs and have had no issues with a single layer.

Folks say its similar material to an ENO and they're rated to 400 lbs.

I'm in the 260s, and I do fine in a single layer even with a ton of gear tossed in it as well.

I just received my 2 60X126 tablecloths today. Waiting on my order of amsteel blue for some DIY whoopei slings and 8yds of ripstop from D.I.Y. Gear Supply for my tarp. I figure if your gonna jump into DIY, You might as well do it with both feet. Everyone at HF has inspired me.

Thanks to info here I made a 60x126 tablecloth hammock with whipped ends, the first of 3 for my kids. I rigged up wall attachments using pine 2x2's, eye bolts, T-nuts, and 4" screws. Cheap, strong, and we like how it looks (dark blue cloth). Again based on other info on the forum, we went with an "imaginary" 82% ridge line. I say imaginary because there isn't a ridge line, but the hammock hangs so that that is the space between the whipped ends.

The kids have all taken turns sleeping in it and they can't wait to each get their own and say "goodbye" to their beds. My wife and I sometimes catch each other lounging in it, too. Very comfy. Especially since she put in a sheepskin to overcome the cooling effect. Heavenly.
