    Review - Tableclothsfactory.com Hammocks

I finally bit the bullet and picked up two crinkle taffeta tablecloths from Tableclothsfactory.com.

    I got a 60x126 and a 90x132 both in black.

They are rectangular pieces of taffeta material that are hemmed on all sides.

I sewed channels in both ends of both hammocks but you could just as easily whip them without sewing (IMHO channeled hammocks feel a bit more spacious).
I lost about 5 total inches off both hammocks with the channels.

The 60" wide hammock weighs 15.5 oz with 30 inch Dynaglide chainlinks.
The 90" wide hammock weighs 24.625 oz with 30 inch 7/64 Amsteel chainlinks.

The feel of this taffeta is a bit "rougher/sturdier" than a 1.1/1.9 ripstop. It does "give" a bit more under you as well. I liken it a bit more to a parachute-type material in that it "gives" a bit under your weight (which I think actually "cradles" you a bit more than a ripstop would).

    The 60" wide -

All-in-all, a nice hammock. Has a flat lay - no calf ridge at different suspension angles/suspension tautness (which I attribute to the channeled ends). Well worth $12.99. I'm going to throw a bugnet together and this will be a nice go-to hammock.

    The 90' wide -

For a true "backyard" hammock, this is an AWESOME hammock. I've never been in a Mayan hammock but this is the most comfortable hammock I've ever felt.

I'm 6'2'' and am able to lay perpendicular in this hammock. Extremely comfy and spacious is an understatement.

My total order was just under $30 shipped (10% off total order plus free shipping) for 2 hammocks.

Thanks for posting your review. I may have to pull the plug and order one. My current hammock is an eye catching yellow and having one that is stealth worthy would be nice.

I'm waiting on mine... I got mine in silver, kind of anxious about it because I'm not a very "blingy" guy and I'm hoping its not over the top like divab's floating cup cake... It will be the top entry bugnet... Yours looks cool...

I got a few and will be donating some to the Boy Scouts at the upcoming hang the 30th. I will sew channels in mine, but the Boy Scouts can learn to whip the ends, or the lucky winners can take them home and set then up as they please. I think I will be keeping the pink one.
They are very comfy, I tried mine out with the whipped ends.

ditto. $13 for another hammock isn't a bad way to go. Thanks for the pics!

I've done a couple of these too and may order a bunch more for a class.

I'd recommend washing them. They soften up a little and who knows what is in the fabric from the mfg...

What to do, what to do? Maybe I'll just incorporate hiknhangers magnets and Reds mini spreaders into one of these and not even waste time with reworking my hiking hammock. Then someone will come up with another interesting idea. Will it never end?

Sweet, Nice review Eric! Aren't the ENOs tafetta too? Nice economical alternative.
