Can I ask what you use for this set up?

I've previously been using Para-cord, some smaller diameter prussic loops and some mini-crabs.

This was on my last Tarp, I've now gone Superfly and have gotten use to the previous set up.

Does the rule about smaller prussics than ridge line still stand?

    What should I use?

    thanks

Stingerz work great, as do the Tarp Flyz.

Paracord can stretch over time and when it gets wet. Not a big deal if you don't mind readjusting the tautness. The frequently recommended cordage like zing it is no stretch and its much smaller than paracord. If you use the same line for prusiks as the ridgeline, add more wraps to get a good grip.

I use the ridgeline from whoopieslings.com and like it for the ease of setting it up. Is it needed no, but I like having it.

I have started to use tree straps on my tarp and found that a 10' section of amsteel and a figure 9 at each end of the tarp is pretty simple. Loop thru the end of the tree strap and cinch thru the figure 9. Not the lightest but the motorcycle is usually carrying the weight

I use a crl. Four Dutchware fleazs and a wasp. One fleaz is permently attached directly to the stainless steel ring at the foot end. I attach another fleaz on a loop to both and pull that around the head end tree and lock it around the fleaz on the other the other ring and into the wing, securing it. The Wasp is attached but isn't used unless the trees are further apart and I need to lengthen the line into the spare length that makes a total length of 50 ft, about 20 as a backup that stays figure 8 wrapped and stowed.

The first thing on a Blackbird Hammock is to get rid f the stock buckles with Dutchware titanium buckles and Amsteel in 7/64. The stock buckles are maddening to try to work with.

I use a CRL (MamaJamba.. essentially the same as the Superfly). Wasp on one end, Dutch hook on the other and mini-ucr's to center and tension the tarp. Seems to work quite well for me. I like that I can keep the tarp in the stuff sack hanging from the ridgeline until I am ready to deploy it, much like you can with snake skins.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

StingerZ is great. Lightening fast to deploy my superfly. However, when I use pole mod kit, CRL over tarp is lot more convenient 'cause the ridge line prevents the rubbing of poles on the tarp.
