I like this method of constructing a compact pole. Not a surprise to anyone that I see it as applicable to a lashed tripod, for a Turtlelady stand. I will be curious to see if anyone tries these materials and the construction technique for a sectional ridge pole. Anyone know off hand whether the hi pressure PVC would handle the compression forces?

The oak is butted to oak inside of the pvc sleeves so the pvc does not take any of the compressive forces. It will have to take some amount bending forces.
