I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Thanks for posting riceg.
In the next few weeks some of us are going to go up there and do some trail clean up. A friend of mine will be going up there in the next few days and find out what sections can use some help too.
I think we'll post on here an invite to get some extra help out there too. The trail certainly can use it.

If any are available this weekend yet there is some work scheduled actually at Hartley nature center. The SHT has some trail through the park and they are looking for volunteers to help move the bridge stuff to the appropriate areas. I'd be there but my surgeon would just laugh and call my wife, my wife doesn't like those kinds of calls.

I know when they built a lot of the bigger bridges, they brought in the lumber by snowmobile and then did the actual construction in the spring. I hate to imagine hauling 2x12's and 4 x 6's miles into the trail. Unless they can use the ATV trails, I fear some bridges may have to wait until next spring, even if they do raise the money to replace them.
Here is the newest update on the SHT. The good news is from gooseberry falls on north, the trail is passable. The bad is that several sections will be closed for an extended period.
