I have used fleece liners on one trip, and it was a big mistake not testing it first. I can tell you right now that they do nothing for the wind. If a breeze comes by, it saps your heat. If you have some sort of wind-proof shell, you will need that. I was freezing for three nights, and I had two liners, was wearing a sweat shirt and jeans. What fun that weekend was (sarcasm, if you didn't already see that).

Down to the 50s I've used a JRB Weathershield underneath and cocooned myself in a fleece blanket. Below that and I'm toasty with my 40* Incubator UQ (which I've taken to the low 20s and still been warm) and a synthetic top quilt. Above that and I'm usually good with just the Weathershield to keep the breeze off my back.

I've been using a Z-Lite and SPE for many years, 70 down to about 40 degrees. Works for me. (Except at the Florida Hang..gotta break out the heavy stuff for that weekend)

Thought I would add my two cents. I live in Miami and didn't think much about insulation on my last trip to ONF. It was in the high 90's in the daytime but dropped to upper 60's in the evening.

For most people upper 60's might be beach weather, but just a little bit of breeze was enough to keep me up huddled with a microfleece blanket all night. Us Miami folk are just not used to the slightest bit of cold.

I have added the Te-Wa Breeze to my pack, it is their thinnest UQ. packs very small and weight under a pound. By itself I find it to be too short and the bottom of my legs and head stay exposed (they recommend putting your empty pack under your legs) but partnered with a wool blanket (to replace the fleece) I sleep nice and toasty.

*Important to call out that if you wear more layers you may not need the blanket at all. It is my choice to bring it with me as it packs (rolls) easier than extra layers would for me.
