I don't think we'll need to. I forgot we made it back there in my wife's car and it's pretty low. Plus I don't wan to hold you up since we wont be taking friday off. not sure exactly when we'll be coming in. My brother sounds like he's interested so we'll see what happens

I'm out. Mom in law's coming. I'm pissed and way disappointed.

Have fun, fellas. I was up near there, at Spaulding Lake, last weekend. It was gorgeous. I'll catch the next one.

I'm planning a 4 day to Lassen or Siskyone Wilderness in mid August. If y'all are interested. shoot me a pm.

    Shucky darn!

And a big boo hoo for me.

I won't be able to come on this trip after all

I was hoping hoping hoping that all would work out but not.

I was involved in a fender bender (bumper basher?) at the end of May and, although the car is now repaired, I am not totally recovered from the whiplash I sustained.

I went on a short hike today (Cardiac Hill, aptly named) and my neck muscles are not recovered enough for even packless day hiking.

Back to the gym for me!

Have a Ton of Fun and I expect to see trip reports and lots of purty pictures.

    Liz:

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it.

I'm having several thoughts myself. I was figuring on camping at the trailhead and day-hiking to the sights. I'm geared to bike-touring and not equipped to hoof my gear at the moment. "Sidewinder" mentioned that the area was more popular than he expected and getting there early might be advised. (The I-80 corridor probably funnels the steaming masses from the valley right into the area.)(Speaking of steaming; we're facing a bunch of 100 degree days leading up to the weekend and the steaming masses will be streaming to the hills and lakes for relief.)

I'm a follower: Who's planning to do what to where, when?

Re: July 2012: Tahoe Nat'l Forest Grouse Ridge

I also won't be able to make it this weekend. By the looks of it this trip may have to be postponed.

Agah! You guys! Finally, I get to go to one of these things and everyone is bailing! I'm still going. Me and the dog. I will be up Thursday. My check out some of the other lakes. Do some fishing. I will be at Glacier lake by Friday afternoon. Hope to see someone to hang with.

Well I'm here at GlacIer lake ensconced in my hammock. Beautiful here except for one thing. Swarms of Mosquitos. If you come, bring Deet or items soaked in permetherine. They are laughing at my natural bug repellent!
