    Hanging Rock State Park, NC

I finally got some nice hammock time and hiking time this weekend. We joined 3 other families there in the family campground and did some car camping. Some of us hiked the Moore's Wall loop trail while others swam at the lake, then we all met at the lake for the afternoon. Good times, good company. I only have one picture from the top of the old fire tower on Moore's Wall.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I had a visitor come by and want to see and try out my hammock. He and his wife are canoe campers and he was very interested in brands of hammocks and the gear in general. I of course told him about this forum, perhaps he'll come visit us here.

Looked like a fun trip glad you got out and enjoyed yourself. Thanks for sharing.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Thanks. It's really hard to go back inside to work after a trip like this.

    We need a raccoon report.

My last two camping trips there have been like a B grade sci-fi movie. As soon as it got dark a dozen of them came strolling by. All my food was secure so they passed by fairly quickly the first time.

Later that night my wife was eating trail mix at the picnic table and a raccoon climbed up the table and took the bag from her and starting eating. He didn't even bother running off, just sat there on the table and enjoyed the mix. I found this very funny; the wife not so much.

Wow, that's interesting. We did not see any critters at all, although we were extremely careful with our food. I take that back, I did see one critter, a large loose dog came into camp early in the morning Saturday and sniffed all around for crumbs.
