I'm only 5'7". I have no issues setting up camp...then again I do have reasonably long arms for my height (my wife calls me "ol' monkey arms").

However tall you are, the taller hmmkr is going to be able hang from trees further apart, because he can reach higher......but only [edit] if a structural ridge line SRL is not used.

The SRL ....the auxiliary line that is the great equalizer. Added weight? Minor compare to all that extra musculature taller people must carry to keep from toppling over.

I think I am officially the shortest person on the forums. Trolling in at 5'1!!! My hammock straps are at 6FT and my hammock tends to be right at the bottom of meh bum (buttocks) in the center with sag. When I set down I'm about 16-20 inches off the ground. I'm happy with that. Gives me plenty of room to drop bombs on people around me as long as the wind is blowing in that direction.

Being short could be a real advantage---you can get by with a shorter hammock, use a lighter hammock material, a smaller tarp, a smaller UQ and TQ etc etc----and probably dont eat as much food or drink as much water as a tall person---I'm not seeing a negative here! (and thats coming from a 6 5" tall guy!) Dont get me wrong, I love being tall, but there are some limitations that come with height!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I'm not so sure about the food consumption part.
