Actually, it can be a triple purpose.

    1. It serves as the safety bead".
    2. It can be tied to the toggle.
    3. It will cinch the whoopie sling over the Marlin Spike Hitch for better security.

I attached my toggle with a locked brummel and then buried it and it decreased the chance of the toggle tangling up.

When I make whoopies I use a small piece of vinyl tubing about 3/4" long from a Hydration hose. It will not freeze or break.

That's a clever way to keep track of toggles--I like it !
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Any idea where he(GrizzlyAdams) got the latch hook that he uses in the video? It looks a lot smaller in diameter and longer than the ones I've found at Joanne's. Also, what is the line he uses for whipping is it just Mason line?

I once saw someone drill holes in dice and use them in place of the bead. This could likely be applied to many different novelty items of your choosing.

yep. If you are careful, I guess it should never happen, but sometimes it does. A small biner or zip tie seem like the easiest answers if you are worried.

+1 on Grizz's whipping knot stopper; I've used it on several sets of whoopies. I use elephant trunks so I don't need the toggle function but it is a great solution. I also think inserting a piece of amsteel is a good, inexpensive alternative--if you're making whoopies, then there's always a piece of amsteel around.

The Diceman Cometh! The dice as stopper bead is my lone original idea on this forum, until someone comes forth to show they did it several years before me.
