I was already hangin' but Shug brought wife into the mix...:what:
Until seeing Shug's videos, I would not have dreamed of taking a hammock out in the winter. Now I have a pulk and a whole winter hanging rig. Thanks, Shug!
I was already convinced to hang (bought an ENO Doublenest at the REI sale), but I didn't really know how I was going to do it until I started watching Shug's videos.
Not really sure what my answer to the poll should be though.
But, Shug has influenced some gear choices and techniques. Not to mention how he made hammocking very, very cool!
I had to say no but he did influence a lot of the decisions since then. I have also shared his videos with a few others. He certainly makes it entertaining to learn and enhance.
I had to vote no since I only found them after joining up here and I already had a hammock, bugnet and tarp by the time I watched them, but I do appreciate them and the info will definitely influence me as I make changes to my setup. They clarified alot for me and it was great to see so many different options in some side by side comparisons.
But that boy ain't right.
I had already heard of hammocks and was already considering one when I came across Shug's videos. It was his How-To series that convinced me hammocking was a viable 4-season shelter. After that I was sold.
And after that I was broke. But at least I'm comfortable!

Only took one to get me hooked. Just bought my first hammock. Looking forward to my first trip this fall!
