I am a researcher for anything I ever even remotely think about. Was actually looking at one man and two man tents when I stumbled on Shug talking about hammock camping. I of course watched them all that very day and then went to find this hammock forums place he kept mentioning. Decided to join the "choir" and ordered my first hammock.

Shug's videos didn't introduce me to hammock camping but they did clear up a number of questions, and boy howdy they're entertaining too. Boy howdy, did he say that? I don't know but it sounds like something he'd say.

Some of us old timers were hanging before shugdiscovery, yet when I meet people who are interested I tell them to youtube Shug and Professor Hammock. I can usually get them interested but I know the truly gifted in teaching the art are the above listed.
Shug has gotten me to more embrace the cold, want the cold, want colder! And if I could meet two hangers I haven't met in the group hangs I've attended it would be Shug and P.Hammock

Shug didn't introduce me to hammocks, but he did introduce me to the concept that they are a viable piece of gear, capable of wonderful things, totally opened the box, so to speak. My only reservation was fear that using a hammock over an extended period of time would make me start juggling, or riding a unicycle, or even saying strange things totally off the wall. If anyone is ever nominated for the title of "Hammock Ambassador", let it be Shug!
