When they say mosquito proof, they mean it

Up in the BWCAW for a four day stint in what one of the locals tell me is the worst in 20 to 30 years for mosquitoes due to the recent heavy rains. At night I could hear, literally, a swarm of mosquitoes on the underside of my NX 200. Not one bite through, but rather unnerving to be sounding like you're in a high pitched beehive.

Side note, thank god for a pee bottle and quick access via the pockets.

If the sound and proximity of the mozzies can be a problem, then insecticides which seem also to be a repellent, and repellent itself, like (picaridin?) can be sprayed on the hammock or netting. Sawyer's picaridin 20% in a pump spray bottle, 15ml, weighs 1oz, sized like a cigar.

I doubt the top quality and top density netting on Clarks can be penetrated by many insects.

I can attest to the mosquito density - I was in N. Minnesota over the weekend.
    Thanks for the testimony.

Going to the latrine was an "experience" wasn't it?
