Well I took my daughter to the mountains today for a swim. We ended up finding a spot to ourselves with plenty of trees. I put up the hammock and dove in. It was 103F at my house. When we got to the river it was 79F. Man it felt great!
I love being in the mountains and so does my daughter. We had fun playing with the crawfish. We must have chased a dozen of them.

Some good memories right there, she will remember that for a very long time
You may have one there that would be interested in what crawdads taste like. Showed the G-daughters how to catch lizards with a pole and line and I believe everyone of them has been caught at least twice. Haven't tried to eat any yet but have eaten many a crawdad.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
Crawdad isnt that bad, if its boiled. I dont like them raw. I have a friend who can suck them down raw. I just cant bring myself to do it..

It was hotter today than yesterday. It hit 105F today (not including the heat index). Things are looking up though, literally. The clouds have rolled in and the thunder and lightening is cracking right now as I type. Looks like a good rain in the forecast for 3 days!! YES!!!Originally Posted by richtorfla
