1st Hang Ever in my HC4U HH Clone

Just strung up the HH clone (not really a HH clone yet) for my first test hang as well as my first hang ever. Sweet.....

It's not done yet but I got it to a point that I could hang in it and test it out. The wife thought I was crazy when I finished whipping it a while ago, slapped the ring buckles on an headed out the front door with the straps (she's ready to go to bed). Instantly I can see how this is going to be way better than sleeping on the ground.

I've still got to sew the zipper / netting on as well as the side tie outs. But I'm stoked.

I didn't get the zippers or netting on yesterday as my wife is sick so my daughter and I went running around to give her a break. I went looking for sleeping bag zippers (for my wifes hammock) and JoAnne's wanted $15.99 a piece. I went through pretty much the same path HC4U went through looking at cheap sleeping bags and couldn't find one suited for this. So we came home empty handed.

Hopped on e-bay when we got home and I scored 20: 110" separating double pull YKK zippers for $30 + shipping. It was a package deal. The wife asked what I was going to do with the other 18. I told her, make more hammocks of course.

It takes trial and error and your own discovery as to what works for you. Just keep on testing then off ye go........

Argh!!!!! I literally ordered THREE of these zippers from Seattle Fabric just last night at $14.50 EACH. I would have been thrilled to make your wife happier by taking some of these off your hand.

Oh well, timings everything.

And yes, I started the build of my HH clone this past weekend. I'm real slow on the sewing machine, so don't expect photos or details for a few weeks.
