Hammock camping story in Rural Missouri

Thanks to several Hammock Forums members for the help with this story I did on hammock camping for the June issue of Rural Missouri. You can see the story in our digital edition here: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/rura...php?startid=28

Especially appreciate Stuart holding still for the photo! After the shoot, we learned that St. Charles County (Mo.) parks don't allow hanging! But the ranger was cool about it. They have a standard rule that nothing can be attached to trees in the park. Probably a good rule, I'm not sure some of the folks who use this park know what a tree is...

We talked a lot about organizing a Missouri group hang in the fall, maybe at Pine Ridge Campground near Columbia. Who's in?

Maybe, don't know if my finances will let me, but it's a nice article. Nice you didn't shock people with the amount of money they COULD spend. Then again, every activity has nooks that will let you spend as much as you'd like.

Very cool to see hammockforums.net and whoppie slings mentioned in an article in Missouri. Great job on the article.

I could be in for a hang here in Missouri I will keep my eyes open. I have one long week trip already planed in June so that month is out but I love to get out in the Fall.

Budget wise a bit too far north for me. A hang at Hawn SP or on the Current or Jacks Forks Rivers maybe.

Depending on the dates, I'm up for a hang in the Columbia area. My brother lives in the area, and we go to his place often to camp.

Matter of fact...he read this article in Rural Missouri, and texted me about it with the link. As soon as he read it, he thought of me! LOL!

    MO hang

I am probably starting a new job soon but if the dates and times could be set far enough in advance then I am definately in!!!

In the fall when the weather is cooler, say the 80's daytime high and lows 50's to 60's nights would be awsome!
