Make a hammock stand. There are several threads on how to.

How big is the tree in your yard? We have a lot of very large old trees around here and I've seen people hang using the trunk + a branch for suspension. If you have one long, solid branch that overhangs, you could even tie a line to it, hang a bar from that line, and then suspend your hammock from that. You'll swing like a tire swing, but it could be fun

Was hoping someone could help. I have one tree out my back garden where i can suspend my hammock but need another anchor point. I was thinking one of these (http://www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-r...ack-of-5/80842) off the back of my garage that is roughly opposite the tree and about 6 m apart. Only thing i'm concerned about is i'm quite a large guy (6'2", about 19.5 stone and built quite large) and was wondering if it would take my weight. Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
It's only a week but I've set up my hammock with this bolt and it seems to holding strong, will check out the other ideas in this thread if it doesn't work! https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p64819

Hanging on brick veneer is great...until it isn't. I guess that applies to a lot of situations.Where's that video of the guy who hung on the brick pillar beside the pool.. and as soon he loaded it the pillar and the roof it supported collapsed on him and the guy watching...
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
