How big is the tree in your yard? We have a lot of very large old trees around here and I've seen people hang using the trunk + a branch for suspension. If you have one long, solid branch that overhangs, you could even tie a line to it, hang a bar from that line, and then suspend your hammock from that. You'll swing like a tire swing, but it could be fun
