    Customized Burrow

After SEVERAL conversations with Adam…and bouncing around ideas on going with either the 40*F or the 50*F Burrow, M50 or other fabrics...I, or should I say (we) decided I'd go with the following:

A sewn through 74" x 50" quilt with 6 ounces of down, snap footbox construction and black 10D fabric that should easily take me to 45*F

It arrived this morning in advance of my outing this weekend, as he promised me. Unfortunately lows may only be in the upper 80's...

I tossed it on the scales, and it weighed in at 10.5 oz. I believe that's nearly an ounce less than the comparable M50's I've been seeing out there, and I can attest it is smooth as a baby's bottom.

Nonetheless, it is certainly a good 6 ounce less than the Montbell #5, I've been using in the summer months and only 2 or 3 ounces more than the silk liner I've been using in extremely warm conditions.

Black is the only color option for this fabric, but in my opinion it’s more palatable than that purple Montbell #5.

Of course it has the same quality engineering of the 20*F products I own from Hammock Gear, and this even has a fancy little logo!

Now after a few good tests, I'm going to have to decide if I want to take my 20*F gear in the same shell/fabric direction...??? Time will tell, but I have a feeling I already know my answer.

Thanks again to Adam and Jenny, as usual your flexibility is amazing and your awesome to work with!

    ~Steve

    I know, I know!!!

I loitered...err...worked from home...until the mail ran at nine. I looked at it, weighed it (in the sack), hugged it goodbye and went off to work.

I will get some pics up later today!

    I am loving that 10 d fabric

    ftroop94,

I am glad you like your quilt! We hated to see that one go out...

Just to let you know. That source for 10 denier material is NOT reliable. I have been having communications issues with TiGoat. They ordered a limited amount and it was not much....It is going fast around here.

    Thanks again for everything, Steve.

...hugged it goodbye and went off to work.
We hugged it before we sent it out too....that quilt is loved!

Yep, I still have some, but I am down to about 30 yards. A full length quilt requires around 5 yards of fabric.....so....just sayin' No pressure.

I really hate that I do not have more because we LOVE that stuff. The "right" side has a great sort of "flat" look to it, meaning that it is not so "shiny" as the M50. It also has a great "hand" or feel. I am REALLY trying to come up with my own supplier but it is a bit tricky and takes time. In the meantime, I am forced to use resellers.

Right you are, and we are working on it.... We are currently talking to the Pertex guys about using the Quantum GL for our quilts. It all takes time and the almighty dollar for that though. I am going to the Outdoor Retailer show this August and hope to meet some new suppliers in the industry....looking forward to it!
