Hi, from the Pennyrile!
Hi, from the Pennyrile!
2 trees, 2 straps, 2 minutes.., 2 comfy 2 care
C'mon KY hangers! Surely someone wants to plan a group hang for us!
October 12-14?
Where: Red River Gorge or Sheltowee Trace (from Big South Fork to anywhere close to London)
I'm not organizing but thought I would put some ideas out there.
I have some new quilts I want to try out. And I havent even hung my new hammock yet.
Fool me once...
Fool me twice...
Here is what I know about hanging at MCNP. Hanging is no problem. There is a group campground that gets little use but costs $30 a night. The backcountry sites are free but you can only camp four people at a time there.
The flood plain is wide open, no holds barred, with the exception that you have to be 1/2 mile away from ferry crossings. That would be my suggestion but you have have a boat to get yourself there. I have a kayak and could get my hands on a few loaner kayaks and I have a canoe I would loan as well.
I would be willing to do any weekend in October except for Muzzleloader weekend.
I'm good for a weekend. No boat here, but would gladly borrow.
Edie, what new hammock do you have?
I'm still waiting for my Rev X top quilt to come in.
I've got a 20* Zeppelin and a 0* Revelation X
Heck I'm open to go hang in LJ park with just London hangers if anyone is interested.
haha as far as London hangers go, I think that might just be me and my soon to be wife. She would use my stuff though so I'd end up on the old blue Walmart pad cause she freezes her tail off in like 70 degree weather haha. I did see someone else on here from London who didn't have a hammock yet. Maybe he has one now? Also, my brother hangs, but he just went to college at UK. Speaking of, I could use his underquilt haha!
I'm in Louisville, just picked up a hammcok and I'm loving it.
