recently, i've been switch things from prussik's to blake's.

instead of using a second line for the blake's hitch, i just make a turn around a stake or tree and hitch the live end to the standing end.

    works real nice!
how do you get the forest ready for the party?
    ...you spruce it up!

I find mason line tightens alot with most of my uses. Had to stop using it as a tarp tensioner as it tightened to much on my ridge

I have found that if you take the "U shaped portion" that is doing the final biting on the line and loosen it a bit when you wish to move it, the knot will slide very easily.

ernesthemmingway mentioned as "shaking" the knot.
