Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
Welcome from SC, and I hope a hammock fixes that back problem. It does for most.

Hello from Indiana,,,I am 62,,and have a slipped disc in lower back,,and get my best sleep in a hammock,,no back pain whatsoever,,and my pack rides on that disc which I find super comfy. Welcome to the forum and indeed, check out Pgibson's hang in Sept. in your neighborhood for checking out equipment and learning this and that.

Welcome from WV! I just got back from scout camp where I spent 5 of 6 nights in the hammock (did not have time to get it set up the 1st night - severe storm forced us into the mess hall). Slept great in the hammock, returned home and after one night in the bed woke up with a hurting back.
Thanks all for the warm welcome and hopefully I will some be a full-fledged member of the hanging community.
Well, I'm 60 now, but I think I'm 35. And I have an 11 year old, so I have to think young. There's nothing like hiking and camping and then kicking back in comfort to help us shed a few years.
Welcome from DFW ...
best,
Mike
