    Roan Mountain Hang

There is a bunch of us from the NRV in Va heading out to hang on Roan mtn January 11-13. We will park at Carvers gap and stay up near the shelter at Roan High Knob!
Then Saturday we will hike to Bradly Gap to a nice campsite with a water source near camp.
The next Day we will hike out to US 19. The trip total miles is around 17.5 miles.
Anyone wishing to join for one night or both are welcome!
Our backup plan is to hike the Rice Fields hike if weather is too crazy!
As a warning it will be very cold even though it is a mild winter! This area is high in elevation and is subject to extreme weather changes!

Let me know if you would like to join us in our little adventure?

I will be going to Mt. Rogers the following weekend for the group hang but Roan is not to far from my house. If it looks like I could make this as we get closer I will let you know.

If you can't make both nights, there is an opportunity to the catch us Sat morning at Carvers Gap parking lot when we hike down off the knob. I can send out details to anyone upon request!
