    Nifty Walmart Find

Or maybe its a quirky Walmart Find---you be the judge.

So I went to Wally World on my way home tonight to try and find one of those Grease cans that Tinny usues in his videos for baking. I've been wanting to do some and have a trip planned, so its about time I get one. Well, all I found an IMUSA quart and a half cup. But on my way out of that aisle, I saw this:

$2.97. Its supposed to be something to keep empty plastic grocery bags in. I wasn't too impressed until I noticed that it was open on both ends that were held closed with elastic. You're supposed to be able to stuff the bags in the top and pull them out of the bottom.

Some of you are already way ahead of me.

Here's what it looks like with my Hennessey Hex stuffed inside:

Now, I know it looks more like that neck pillow that you have to move out of the way when you want to sit in Gramma's comfy chair, but I like to think of it as a very stylish Bishop Bag for the tarp that cost me less than three bucks. Besides, I can always stuff it with my daytime clothes and use it as a neck pillow. I love dual purpose gear, and it might give the hammock that "lived in" look.

They come in a number of patterns to match any decor. I almost went with the African Safari theme. But seeing as how I was born in New Hampshire but spent the last 40 years living in Oklahoma and Texas, I unironically went with carpet bag motif.

So now the question is, should I get curtains for the tarp and a coaster for that IMUSA cup?

I think you came up with a great "low buck" idea. You could even open up a hole in the end seams and pull out some of the elastic, add a cordlock to close up the ends a little better ifin you want to do that!

    Thanks for sharing! Cool brainstorming.

Correct. It was on one of those hanger things they put around in the aisles that have little gimmiks and stuff on them.

What color drapes? I'm thinking about a solid color. Another pattern in the mix would make the campsite look too----"busy"-----doncha think?

Thanks.....I think??? I just received my 1st tarp today, a 12x12 Kelty Noah, it looks like it should fit with room to spare. Just gotta convert to drawstrings on the ends.

Wuz thinkin zackly that. At the price if I screw it up, that just means I paid 6bux for a bishop bag after I do it right on the second one.

    Throw rugs or runners?

I was thinking that, too. But would the Tyvek clash with the Bishop Bag?

I love my tyvek tarp, but tyvek clashes with EVERYTHING (and it kind of makes my cheeks look flushed and puffy). Throw in a nice Tiffany lamp, though, and it'll bring the whole ensemble together rather nicely.
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Great find! Wife wonders why I finally go "shopping". Can't walk thru any store anymore without thinking outside the box.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
