Did some digging and found a post on DM's bars. He's at the John Rock Hang until Monday and he can answer all your questions better than me but this should get you started. Since this post all 3 of his Daughters have gotten hooked on hanging!

+2 on what Mad777 said. Here is a few pics of me with my 8 yr old daughter last week. Rain was nowhere in the forecast, so we opted out on the tarps. The Buginators were in use as the forecast on skeeters was 110%. She also refuses to let me make her a new hammock. She outgrew hers a while back, but it's "her hammock".

P.S. Don't tell her I took this pic.

If you find some larger diameter trees, you can have your suspension anchored on opposite sides of the tree to keep your hammocks from bumping into each other. or sling them bunk-bed style.

I had my son in his own hammock at 8yrs old... He was already pretty comfortable in the woods. It was actually easier for him to stay warm in a bag with ccf pad under him. Go figure. After plenty of tweaking I have gotten him comfy with an uq.

Funny thing is,, 10 Y.O. Son has slept in his own hammock for the last 2 years on our trips,, mama convinced him that he "needed" to sleep with her.
That was her 1st and last trip,,
