I have and enjoy the AHE New River... it fits great and keeps me toasty all night long.
I highly recommend it
the New River is synthetic, if you prefer down you'll need to go another way, but for the money I think its an amazing deal and very effective, I wouldn't hesitate to take it down to its rating of 30 degrees (0 Celsius for Canadians).
It packs quite well too, although I understand down will go smaller, its hard to beat the price of the new river for me.
20F rated down quilts were always plenty for me to the limit I was able test them: 10F once and 15-20F many times. With protection from wind, thats plenty for me, lightly dressed, in a Clark and just a 30-40F rated down top quilt, w weather-shield laying above it. That's every night in NJ last winter.
Unless I was going to make use of the bulk repeatedly: yeah, 0F is too much bulk, takes you from the melon size ball when stuffed, and means you must be more careful in set up not to scrape the bottom shell due to the added inches of negative loft.
