Pretty awesome setups here. The jeep hang is great!
A few friends and I spent the weekend in Grayson Highlands State Park in VA. All 5 of us use hammocks. Altogether we had my WBBB, my friend's WBRR, a Dutch hammock, a Hennessy, and a couple of homemade hammocks. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful.

^^ that's a big lens to haul around! Awesome pics ... so well worth it
I'd rather be hanging.
Looks awesome Tom! (and a heck of a way to start your first post).
Nice to see another Platypus Gravityworks user. Love mine! Did the deer wander into the sight or just close? I had one wake me up sniffing at the side of my hammock once.
Yup! I go light so I can afford to haul around 5 lbs of camera gear. With food and water, my whole pack was around 25 lbs.
We turned a corner in the path and saw him. I had to quickly unpack the telephoto lens and sneak around a little bit. He saw us but let us get really close before turning and lazily walking off into the thicker part of the forest. I was maybe 20-30 yards from him when I snapped that picture. He hung out in the forest near our campsite. We saw him wandering around later that evening, but I couldn't get close enough to get another good picture.
Yeah, the GravityWorks is awesome. It was my first time using it and it worked very well. I also had a Sawyer Squeeze Mini along for the trip and it also worked well.
Close, good eye! This is about 100mi north of Crystal Mountain. I am camped on the Sauk River out the Mountain Loop Highway (outside of Granite Falls, WA) in the north cascades. It is in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Not too far from Everett WA. It is an amazing spot where I go camping any chance I get. There is about 50 hikes up there and 100 dispersed car-camping spots along the road/river. At about 45 min from my house, I consider myself spoiled.
“The word hammockable (Meaning: two trees that are the perfect distance apart between which a hammock can be hung) is not in the dictionary, but it should be.”
I miss that area, Burg. It was a lot of fun living there but after going to Tampa (ack.. boring flat lands) for a few years taking care of the grandparents I realized I'd have to have won the lottery to move back to Seattle. Knoxville is similar in being spoiled with all the great camping, the AT trail, etc. There are benefits to both places and I'd certainly love to go back and visit.
(worst thing about the east coast is the lack of decent snow skiing)
Nice Phots, thanks guys for the images!
I have slept in a hammock on every continent from -20 to +128, under direct and indirect fire, from frost to fungus except Antarticia.... But give me time... Thank you Uncle Sugar!
