Actually this is my practice hanging area

It's about 75 yds from my back door

That looks like a great spot for a group hang

Two foot from the waters edge, you could hear the river flowing thru the roots of the trees.

Key West, Florida - March, 2012 - I was keeping a careful eye to make sure Cuba didn't invade. I wandered off from this spot later, and an oiled up girl climbed into my hammock so her boyfriend could take pictures of her. The hammock still smells like coconut more than a year later.

How about this one? Hanging from the rafters of the shelters along the AT through the Smoky Mountains. Earned me the trail name "Bat" from all the thru-hikers, and they were all glad I wasn't using a bunk space.

Yet you're blocking the ladder and your hammock is in the way of those poor souls on the bottom and the top.

Rule of thumb in any of the shelters is to not pitch your tent or hang your hammock inside. I'm surprised nobody gave you a hard time, I think that's plain ignorant.
