Laughing, he said no (What was I thinking ? ).

Expect to drive to Harrisburg PA, the day before, to get to the starting point, Pen Mar early the next AM, Wednesday, 17 October.

What are the plans for parking? I would prefer to leave my miniVan at the end, Gathland.
Then take the other driver back to their car, Friday, 19 October.
    Yet I am flexible.

What are your ideas, SilvrSurfr ? Living the HighLife ?

Sounds like a plan. We can drop off your vehicle and Corey's at Gathland, then we should have enough space in my MacDaddy 1994 Cadillac Sedan de Ville to get to the PenMar trailhead. If more folks join, we might need another vehicle to get people and gear to the trailhead.

that indeed sounds like a plan. Shelby and I will be there. the question is the tentative meet time in Gathland on the start day?

I've got a four-hour drive, so I'd prefer to not meet too early. How's 11 am? That gives us a good chunk of daylight to do 10 miles.

I am interested in doing a section hike with you. I work till 730 Thursday night. The drive is 2 hours. Then a nice straight uphill hike in the dark to get there at 1030

If I can swing it, can someone get me back to my car at I 70 once we gt to gathland? It is not far....

It shouldn't be to big of an issue since one of us will be driving silver back to penmar to get his car.

If y'all need rides....I'm like 10 min from Gathland and maybe 40 min from Pen Mar, so I can shuttle someone without much trouble if needed on the weekend. Weekday would take a bit more planning with work constraints.

I didn't see a change in itinerary. If it's Pine Knob, it's not really that much of a hill, Demeter. There's a trail to it bearing left before the bigger climb. If you climb the hill to the other trail then climb back down, you're doin it wrong

From the NOBO hikers to the SOBO hikers to the Fall MAHA:
All of us North Bounders wish all of you a great time!!!
We are heading NOBO from the Front Royal area on the 15th to Gathland hoping to arive on the 19th if all goes well!!
    NOBO thread
May the trail be kind to you and the weather in your favor during your South Bound to Gathland!!
    Food for thought;
Their are a lot of hikers out there--usually those who thought there were a couple of gallons left in the tank.

SilvrSurfr and Living the HighLife ( PM's sent )

I am very sad to tell you that due to some urgent major repairs on our old house I can not hike the SOBO pre-hike.

What was a medium plumbing repair turned into a major repair involving structure, two contractors and a timetable that bumps up against the beginning of the hike.

Therefore, regrettably, after talking to one of the contractors this morning, it is clear that I must cancel.

I was so looking forward to the hike with Living the HighLife, "she who will be trailnamed later" and SilvrSurfr.

Was looking forward to meeting new friends and the trail-tales-and-antics of the adolescent-spirited-wisdom-added SilvrSurfr.

Expect this will also cancel my going to Fall MAHHA, but have a bigger window to see how the contractor's schedule works out.

    Happy Trails All ! !
