In an effort to try to give back to the group, I have created a different organizer for my hammock. This is still a proof of concept, so please forgive the sewing techniques.
As I lay in my hammock I notice that there is quite a bit of wall raised on the opposite side (I sleep shoulder left and the right side extended quite high, same with the opposing leg side). Thinking that this was wasted space, I decided to sew an organizer into the side of the hammock. As you will see there's plenty of space for rif raf, but it stays out of my way and utilizes the space a bit better. This only shows the head side, but I will be putting one on the foot side as well.
I find the ridge line organizer was always in the wrong place or pulled so much on the ridge line that it would sag (amsteel 7/64 ridge line works better than Zing-it 1.75, but it would still sag.)
I know that I am a "Johnny come lately" to this ball and other's may have tried this, but it seems to work great for me.
I will be making a new hammock next week, after returning from Cub Scout camp, out of M90MR material and hope to tighten up the sewing to make it more professional looking.
Any suggestions would be welcome! But Thank YOU to all of you who have unknowingly helped me find a more comfortable camping solution!
