Uncle Johnny's Hostel, Erwin TN, hammock accommodations

I've been watching a few thru hikers this season, including "Kiwi"...

He stopped at Uncle Johnny's Hostel in Erwin Tennessee and showed their hammock accommodations, which I thought was pretty cool. Here's a link to the video starting at the point he begins talking about it-

He's a tenter, but he does take time to point out places where hammockers could stealth camp from time to time.

I have noticed that several hostels are starting to put in hammock areas. Nice!

Cool. I was just in this area last week and man do I feel sorry for some of these through hikers after the cold snowy weather that we went through. Here's one pic and it was 14 degrees F with about a 20 mph wind but what beauty. I'm sure the through hikers didn't think so after a couple of days. This is just down the road from Stecoah Gap. We traveled from Johnson City down the mountains to Nantahala then onto the Ocoee scouting for a backpacking trip. Glad I didn't plan one for this time

Yes, I saw several of their videos during the cold snap. I think it chased a fair few off the trail, and it surely affected the rest of them. If I were thru'ing I'd want a snap like that to coincide with a town visit for sure, but when it comes you are where you are!
