Full length vs. 3/4?

After two years using full size I switched to 3/4 last fall. I find that my sleeping style allows almost full coverage even though I'm a tad over 6' tall. I side sleep either left or right with bent legs... Cost not a really issues for most but reduced pack size and weight is.

Why carrry down your not using...

hhhm... 3/4 seems like the really popular option, but for some reason I want to lean toward full size.

I'm with CamRuns but I know my desire stems from getting cold feet one night with a 3/4 UQ.

3/4 Year Round. In MICHIGAN, I usually toss my jacket under my feet inside the hammock and a small sit pad under that. I cant complain so far it has taken me down to the 20* mark several nights this year alone. For warmer temps I usually make sure my top quilt is tucked under my legs.

The only time I have had cold feet was in January this year and that is because my pants had frosted to my socks in about 15* weather and in my struggle to pull them off I stuck my foot into the snow before flipping into the hammock. I had the 40* DIY and the half sock.

Also I should mention that I have a UGQ 20* 3/4 with 2 oz over fill for the fall to spring season. Also a DIY Climashield 5.0 oz 2/3 for the summer. Both work great for full year enjoyment.

I use down booties to help my feet stay warm.

I don't really have to worry about it where I am at, but right now I use a pluq, which I believe is considered 2/3 length. When I was seeing lower temps I did various things but the sock trick worked the best for keeping my feet warm.

Well I pulled the trigger on an UGQ full length 20* Zeppelin. Maybe I'll learn and decide to switch when I have some more money to spend, but for me currently I think the full length is just the safer/smarter choice.

Sounds good to me...you'll enjoy it! I love my full-length and the guaranteed warmth it provides head to toe. It fits along with everything else in my pack so I have no reason to reduce bulk. If you ever decide to get a smaller pack it could be an issue, but I'm finally set on my pack size personally.

Anybody know what measurement ranges actually define whether or not a quilt is considered 1/2 or 3/4? Not trying to be a tweaker but I'm 6' tall and my mother is 5'2". A 1/2 for me is close to a 3/4 for her. Just wondering if there is a "standard."
